Resources for Exploring the Bible

At the Woodhall Spa & Bain Valley Group of Churches, we are always encouraging people to explore the Bible for themselves to help them in developing their relationship with God. We are currently working to put together resources on this page to help you on your journey.

The Bible Society

The Bible society is a charity that believes that the Bible is God’s gift to the world. They want everyone to discover the message for themselves.

  • Latest news from the Bible Society

  • The Bible Course is an epic eight-session journey through the Bible, suitable for church groups and individuals, explore God’s big story one step at a time with Dr Andrew Ollerton. A new course is coming out in 2025. There is a book to go with it.

  • Andrew Ollerton also has a course on Romans, which is a a ten-session programme that helps you look at Paul’s letter to the Romans. This also has an accompanying book.

  • The Bible society have a resource called Rooted. This is a resource to help study the Bible. There is a Rooted journal, which can sign up to receive monthly.

  • There is also Rooted as a podcast, where you can listen to in-depth conversations about the Bible and how we can apply it to our lives. It is available on Spotify.

  • The Bible Society also has a daily reflection, focusing on one of the chapters from that day's readings. 

  • The Bible Society has its own YouTube channel.

The Canadian Bible Society

The Canadian Bible Society also champions the Bible across the globe. Their work reaches out from Canada to places like Romania, Uganda, China and many more. You can read about their work here. Dr Andrew Ollerton also works with the Canadian Bible Society.
